Maxicare is a leading HMO provider in the Philippines. They offer different health care plans and payment schemes (usually monthly, semi-annually, and annually). You can quickly settle your Maxicare through various payment channels, such as Maxicare-accredited banks. For banks, you can pay either over-the-counter or online, and Maxicare recommends the latter for convenience.

Personally, I pay my Maxicare bills using the UnionBank app. The first time I did it, I had to contact my agent because there was no how-to guide available. My invoice contained a lot of numbers, but they didn't specify which one I should input into the Payment Reference Number field in the app.

Each time I pay, I sometimes forget the exact steps I did during the past billing cycle, which prompted me to create this how-to guide.

Maxicare makes it easy to pay your bills in the safety and comfort of your home. If you have a UnionBank account, this guide explains how to settle your bills using UnionBank’s mobile application.

Procedure​

Step 1: Copy the Payment Reference Number.​

  1. Open the billing invoice sent to you via email, usually attached as a .pdf file.
  2. Navigate to the upper right corner of the document. Copy the Payment Reference Number. You'll need this later on.

Step 2: Pay via the UnionBank application.​

  1. Open the UnionBank application.
  2. Log in to your UnionBank account.
  3. On the dashboard, select Pay Bills.

  1. Click Select Biller.

  1. Select Maxicare Healthcare Corporation under the Biller List.

  1. Fill out the appropriate details needed. All fields are required.

6.1 In Payor's Name, enter your full name.
6.2 In SOA Reference, type FR000 and paste the Payment Reference Number you copied earlier.
6.3 In Payee Contact Number, enter your mobile number.

  1. After filling out the required fields, tap Done.

  1. Enter the amount you must pay, then tap Next.

  1. Review the details. If everything is correct, click Pay PHP XX.XX. Otherwise, tap Edit to update the information.

  1. Don't forget to take a screenshot of the completed transaction. This will be saved in your phone's screenshot gallery.

Step 3: Send the proof of payment.​

  1. In your email service provider, look for the billing email sent by your Maxicare agent.
  2. Reply to the thread, and inform your agent that you've already settled your account.
  3. Attach the screenshot of the transaction.
  4. Send your email.
  5. Wait for a confirmation email from your Maxicare agent. You should receive it in a few days.
